Pennykite

Getting started

Set up Pennykite in a few minutes, from your first paycheck to your safe-to-spend number.

Pennykite is a cash-flow calendar and debt payoff planner for people paid weekly, every two weeks, twice a month or irregularly. You enter your paychecks, bills and debts. The planner shows the balance you'll end each day with, how much is safe to spend before payday, and when you'll be debt-free.

There's no bank login. Your plan is stored in your browser, not on our servers.

Set up your plan

Create an account

Sign up at /signup with your name, email address and a password, then open the link in the verification email. You can add a passkey or two-factor authentication later. See Accounts.

Add your paycheck

Open Bills & income and add a paycheck: the take-home amount, how often you're paid and your next payday. If you're paid irregularly, add each expected paycheck as a one-off. See Bills and income.

Add your bills

Add rent, utilities, subscriptions, insurance and anything else that leaves your account on a schedule. Each bill keeps its own schedule and due date. With Plus, you can import a statement and let the planner suggest them.

Enter your balance

On the Overview, choose Enter your balance and type what's in your account today. The calendar starts from this number.

Check safe to spend

The Overview now shows how much is safe to spend before payday, with the math behind it. Set a cushion in Preferences if you want to keep some money untouched. See Calendar and safe to spend.

Add your debts

Open Debt payoff to add each debt with its balance, APR, minimum payment and due day. Pick snowball, avalanche or your own order, and an extra amount per month. See Debt payoff.

Try it without an account

The free calculators work without signing up: paycheck budget, debt snowball vs avalanche and debt-free date. Choose Save this plan to carry your numbers into a new account. They stay in your browser until you sign up.

Download a backup

Your plan exists only in this browser. Clearing your browser data deletes it, unless you turn on encrypted sync or download a backup file in Preferences now and then. See Your data and privacy.

Math, not advice

Pennykite does arithmetic on the numbers you enter and shows its working. It's not a financial adviser, and its results are only as accurate as your numbers.
